The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous tourist attractions in India and across the world. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Completed in 1653, The Taj Mahal, often referred as the “Crown of Palaces” is a marvel creation of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who built this monument in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The floors and walls have intriguing calligraphy and mosaic work adorned with precious stones.It is located on the bank of the River Yamuna and is easily accessible by road.Although, the Taj Mahal is open for normal hours daily, on full-moon nights, and one night before and after a full-moon, the Taj Mahal complex is open for tourists who want to emjoy and appreciate the beauty of Taj by moonlight – a truly spectacular sight.

The Taj Mahal was constructed over a time span of 23 years. Construction started in 1632 (after death of Mumtaz Mahal in 1631) and was completed near 1653.Twenty-thousand artisans and craftsmen worked to construct the building, lay the lawns and carry out the intricate carvings and inlay work.According to the experts’ estimations, the entire cost of constructing the Taj Mahal may have been almost 32 million Rupees at that time.Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur Similar to the shape of a crown, the Hawa Mahal is perhaps one of the often visited tourist destinations of the lovely Pink City, Jaipur. The Hawa Mahal was designed Lal Chand Ustad. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. From the front, the palace may seem massive, but it will be interesting for you to know the walls are less than a foot thick. A portion of the beautiful City Palace, the Hawa Mahal is a marvelous melange of Rajasthan. Etched in punk hued sandstone, it soars up to a height of about five stories and is one of the most remarkable monuments of Rajasthan. The brain child of Lal Chand Usta, it comprises of nine hundred and fifty three tiny jharokha adorned, curved roofed cells, that cuts a comely picture. The unembellished and stark back portion of the mahal may, however, intrigue visitors.Legend has it that the purpose of building this arresting site was to enable the purdah clad womenfolk to soak in the feel of the sights and sounds of the place. Enchanting views of the majestic Jantar Mantar, the celebrated observatory, the grand City Palace and the bustling Siredeori Bazaar is the unique selling protocol of the beautiful Hawa Mahal. The history buffs can queue up at the museum and catch a glimpse of the glorious regal life.It is said that the stunning Hawa Mahal is in its glorious best when the golden rays of the morning sun caresses it. Golden Temple, Amritsar Golden Temple, also known as Harminder Sahib, is one of the most important sacred places for Sikhs and also the main attraction in Amritsar, which literally means the tank of the nectar of immortality. The temple or gurdwara is a symbol for equality and brotherhood. The temple welcomes everybody, irrespective of race or cast. More than 100,000 people visit this place every day and take part in the free meal (langar) and the community kitchen. Golden temple represents the heritage and rich historical background of the Sikhs.

As the name symbolizes, this temple is covered with gold. The main premises is situated in the center of pool of water.In the Central Sikh Museum at the main entrance, galleries represent pictures and remembrances of Sikh gurus, warriors, and saints. Guest quarters are provided for international Sikh tourists(for a nominal fee), and at least 400 simple rooms are available(free of charge) to Sikh pilgrims. Very near to Golden Temple, some other tourist attractions like Wagha Border, Jallianwala Bagh and many more are also available.
